Digital Marketing Agency in Vietnam
Adtek is a digital marketing agency in Ho Chi Minh City. Since May 2022 we have run paid media, SEO, marketplace advertising and CRM for brands selling to Vietnamese consumers. We judge the work by business numbers: revenue, customer acquisition cost (CAC) and customer lifetime value (LTV). Reach and likes are secondary. That focus on revenue is why we call ourselves a growth marketing agency rather than a channel shop.
If you are shortlisting a digital marketing agency in Vietnam, this page covers what we do, how an engagement runs, and the questions worth asking any agency before you sign, including us.
What our digital marketing agency in Vietnam does
Brand Commerce
Most brands split brand building and sales into separate budgets and separate teams. Brand Commerce plans them together, so the same campaigns drive orders this month and make people remember your name next quarter.
Performance advertising on Meta, Google, TikTok and Apple Ads
We plan budgets, build campaigns, produce creative and optimize every week. The numbers we answer for are return on ad spend (ROAS) and cost per order. A cheap CPM on its own tells you very little.
SEO and AI Search
Technical SEO, content and internal linking, done the way Google’s own documentation recommends. AI Search work aims to get your brand mentioned and cited in AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Gemini answers. Our founder wrote a longer explainer on AI optimization (in Vietnamese).
Data and CRM
We connect ad data to actual orders, segment customers and set up the follow-up flows that bring past buyers back. Repeat purchases are usually the cheapest revenue a brand has, and the most often ignored.
E-commerce on Shopee, TikTok Shop and Lazada
On-platform ads and planning for the big sale days. Day-to-day store operations (listings, orders, customer chat) stay with your team or your marketplace operations partner; we work with them so ads and sale plans match stock and vouchers. In Vietnam the calendar runs on double dates (9.9, 10.10, 11.11, 12.12), and each one needs stock, vouchers and ad budgets lined up weeks in advance.
Growth strategy
Before deciding where the money goes, we build a simple growth model. Say the target is VND 2 billion a month and the average order is VND 500,000. That means 4,000 orders. How many come from new customers, how many from returning ones, and how much can you afford to pay for each new customer? Once those three numbers exist, splitting the budget gets much easier.
Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC)
For launches and brand campaigns, IMC keeps ads, social, PR and retail saying the same thing at the same time. It is the right tool when several channels have to move together.
App marketing and user acquisition
For app businesses we run user acquisition (in Vietnamese) on Apple Ads, Google, Meta and TikTok. We measure cost per retained, paying user, not just cost per install.
How an engagement works
Five stages. Tracking comes before spend, which is the part many projects get backwards.
- Audit. We read your sales data, ad accounts, Google Analytics and Search Console, and talk to whoever handles sales. View access is enough at this stage. You get a short written assessment: which channels make money and where the measurement is off.
- Strategy. Targets are set in business terms (revenue, CAC, break-even ROAS), and the budget is split by channel and by month.
- Tracking and launch. Pixels, conversion events and UTM tags go in first. We check that ad-reported orders match your order system, then turn campaigns on.
- Optimization. Weekly reviews of creative, bids and budget. We avoid constant tinkering: Meta says an ad set typically needs around 50 results in the week after its last significant edit to exit the learning phase.
- Reporting and replanning. Reports reconcile against revenue in your own sales system, not only what the ad platforms claim. Periodic incrementality tests show which channels add revenue that would not have happened anyway.
Who you would be working with
Adtek was founded and is run by Tin Le, Founder and Managing Director. He spent more than 10 years in senior digital marketing roles at VNG, Adayroi (Vingroup), Lazada and Shopee, including Head of Online Marketing at Shopee Vietnam. His articles are on his author page, and his commentary on Vietnamese e-commerce has appeared in The Saigon Times and CafeBiz (see our press page).
The team holds Google Ads, Meta Blueprint and Apple Ads certifications. A certificate does not guarantee results. It does show that the person running your account has passed the platform’s own exam.
Legal entity: Adtek Technology Joint Stock Company, tax code 0317120810. More on the company is on our about page.
How to choose a digital marketing agency in Ho Chi Minh City
Use these questions on every agency you talk to. They apply to us as well.
- How are invoices issued? Foreign companies should confirm early who issues the Vietnamese VAT invoice for fees and for ad spend.
- Do they ask about your margins? An agency that never asks about gross margin, average order value or repeat rate is planning around channel metrics, not your P&L.
- How do they measure? Who installs tracking, how reported conversions are reconciled with real revenue, and which attribution model they use.
- Who does the actual work? Ask for the names of the people running your account, their certifications and how many clients each of them handles.
- Do they promise rankings? Google states plainly that no one can guarantee a top ranking. A fixed ROAS promise made before anyone has seen your data deserves the same skepticism.
- What does the contract say? Minimum term, notice period, exit terms, and who owns the creative and content afterward.
Digital agency, growth agency or in-house team
| Digital marketing agency | Growth agency | In-house team | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scope | One or a few channels | The full funnel, including repeat customers | Whatever skills you manage to hire |
| Main metrics | CPC, CPM, reach, rankings | Revenue, CAC, LTV | Set by you |
| Strengths | Deep channel skills, quick to start | Budget moves to whichever channel earns most | Closest to the product and the customer |
| Weaknesses | Channel numbers can look good while revenue stays flat | Needs access to your sales data, slower setup | Fixed payroll, hard to hire strong people for every channel |
| Best when | Strategy is settled and one channel needs an expert | You want one partner accountable for growth numbers | Marketing budget is large and stable for years |
Plenty of companies mix the two: one in-house marketer owns targets and data, and an agency handles channel execution.
FAQ
How do digital marketing agencies charge?
Three models are common. A monthly retainer is easy to budget but is not tied to results. A percentage of ad spend grows with your budget, which gives the agency little reason to suggest cutting a channel that is not working. Performance-based fees (per lead, order or share of revenue) need a precise definition of what counts and which system does the counting. Many contracts combine a base fee with a performance bonus. We quote after the audit, once the scope is clear.
How long before I see results from ads and SEO?
Ads produce data in the first week, but platforms need a few weeks to learn before the numbers settle. SEO is slower. Google’s SEO Starter Guide says some changes show up in hours and others take several months, and suggests waiting a few weeks before judging. We do not promise rankings or a fixed ROAS.
What should I prepare for the first meeting?
Monthly revenue for the last 6 to 12 months, gross margin, average order value, an indicative budget and view access to your ad and analytics accounts. With those, the first conversation can be about a plan rather than introductions.
Do I still need someone in-house?
Yes, at least one person. They hold the business targets, approve content, share sales data and make decisions when the agency proposes changes. Without that role, most projects stall waiting for approvals.
